The 2019 International Conclave — “New India, Rising India” was a landmark event held in London from 4th to 8th October 2019, commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration aimed to honour individuals whose work and values are inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of peace, self-reliance, and service. The event brought together an eminent delegation comprising politicians, business leaders, doctors, professionals, and cultural figures from India, the UK, and the USA.
The celebrations began with the launch of the Global Gandhi Awards and a tribute to the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi at the Brent Civic Centre.
Participants also took part in a symbolic Khadi Walk to the Inner Temple, where Gandhiji studied law, followed by cultural engagements including a heritage walk, a boat ride on the River Thames, and visits to iconic landmarks such as the Swaminarayan Temple.
The event culminated with the Global Gandhi Awards 2019 ceremony held in the historic Churchill Rooms at the UK Parliament, followed by a formal dinner on 8th October 2019. The ceremony was graced by Hon. MP Virendra Sharma as Chief Guest and MP Bob Blackman as Special Guest.
Supported by prominent organisations from the UK and beyond, the 2019 Conclave set the stage for a continuing journey of celebrating India’s rise, honouring global excellence, and strengthening Indo-British ties rooted in Gandhian ideals.
